Susquenita sweeps East Juniata in track action

It was a tough night on the track for the East Juniata track team as they lost both contests against Susquenita.
The girls fell 133-16 while the boys fell 93-57.
On the girls side, Madison McDonald took the top spot in the long jump with a leap of 13’ 11”.
McDonald also finished third in the triple jump with a jump of 27’ 8 1/2”.
Clayre Guyer finished third in the javelin with a toss of 95’ 02”.
Guyer also had a strong finish in the 1600-meter run with a third-place time of 6:38.8.
Finishing second in the 400-meter run and 100-meter was Kierstyn Fogle with times of 1:07.8 and 14.3, respectively.
The boys finished with seven first place finishes in its competition.
Leading the way for the Tigers were John Moyer and Albert Heister.
Moyer took the top spot in the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 17.8 and in the 300-meter hurdles where he finished with a time of 44.3.
Heister took top honors in the 3200-meter run where he topped off at a time of 11:47.6. He also had success in the 1600-meter run with a final tally of 5:12.2.
In the field events, East Juniata got firsts from Blake Sheaffer who made it the top in the long jump with a leap of 18’0.
Riley Hepner won the triple jump with a length of 37’ 09”.
Rounding out the winners was Garrett Gabel as he won in the javelin. Gabel finished with a launch of 140’03”.
He also placed third in the discus as he sailed it 108’05”.
